About Us

History

The Smile-A-Mile Fun Bus & Toy Library was established in 1987 as a result of research carried out by the Department of Community Services, assessing the needs of our local and rural communities. We are a Government funded organisation, originally sponsored by the Humpty Doo Community & Child Care Centre.

In 1988 we moved from the Child Care Centre to a more permanent base, situated at the old historical Fred's Pass Reserve Police Station and became incorporated in February 1990.

The Smile-A-Mile Fun Bus & Toy Library Incorporated is a service designed to bring enjoyable activities and experiences to children who have limited access to other mainstream children’s services.

Funding

Funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services – Communities and Parents Support (CaPS) program.
